How We Charge

We provide a proposal containing our understanding of the tasks at hand, the scope of work, and a breakdown of activities and milestones to achieve your objectives. A task becomes billable upon customer acceptance of the deliverables defined in the project schedule.

Per diem, per hour

For small ad hoc projects, Atamo can quote an hourly or daily rate. We classify work as either design or management activities, and align our rates with those determined by APESMA.   We invoice when we provide the agreed deliverables.

Fixed price

For projects extending over a number of weeks, we can establish a fixed price tied to an agreed milestone. Longer projects consist of a number of smaller milestones. We invoice at the end of each month.

Alternate arrangements

We can provide some flexibility.   We rarely consider equity share in your venture; we are fee-for-service with foreground intellectual property on the project becoming your property upon payment of invoices.

Incidentals, expenses

All work by Atamo in Australia is subject to Australia's Goods and Services Tax (currently at 10% of the total amount invoiced). This is not applied to work performed internationally.

Expenses are charged to the project. The terms of how living expenses are calculated can be established before work commences. Third party services and other outgoings reasonably incurred in the execution of the work will be charged at cost plus administration fee.   This also applies to materials used in the project.

New markets are opening up for this public company, who have tried to find the right formula for expansion before. They are now being presented with a number of opportunities simultaneously, and need to create agreements which protect their intellectual property but to also leverage the reach the new channels will bring.contract

Services provided

Atamo utilised most of its team to provide a full coverage readiness assessment to expand through distribution channels. It is a big step for companies to become one step removed from the final customer, and to convey product and market knowledge through intermediaries. Our activities included:

  • Audit of all existing aspects of the business, from marketing through design, manufacture, support, and sales efforts
  • Determination of license models as suitable candidates to use in their business
  • Negotiation strategies based on pricing and technical advantages.

Benefits to our client

The client needed a fresh set of eyes to understand a large strategic decision for their company. Our experience in both operations and commercial areas made us an ideal fit, and provided confirmation that they were on the right track, but needed to beef up certain aspects in anticipation of growth. Many of their processes work well now, but would not scale.

Assignment charges

Atamo provided these services at a fixed rate based on agreed milestones at the end of defined phases. Payment was billable at the end of each month, with deferral of final payment on achievement of the final target.
